Welcome to my studio! I have been teaching piano and voice lessons in San Diego for twenty years and I would love to work with you.

My goal as a teacher is to help others develop to their fullest creative potential. Whether your goal is a majoring in music, playing for personal relaxation, or introducing your child to the world of music, I’m here to support you.

I teach from my home studio in the heart of San Diego as well as offering remote lessons. My studio is equipped with a hundred year old Marshall & Wendell medium grand piano for students to play and sing with; a Baldwin spinet for two-piano duets and teacher demonstration; and a synthesizer and microphones for exploring pop, rock, jazz and musicals. I have a collection of hundreds of musical selections for piano and voice students to study. Wifi, a comfortable sitting area and tea and coffee is available for parents who would like to observe lessons.

I offer lessons for all ages and experience levels. My students have ranged from kindergartners to retirees. Some have been total beginners, whether six years old or adults looking for relief from career stress. I have assisted high school seniors in preparing senior recitals and college auditions, as well as coaching junior college and university music majors. Every student has a unique creative perspective. The best part of teaching is joining each individual on their musical journey, no matter what phase of the journey we’re on.

I specialize in special needs students, particularly neurodivergent students or those with mood disorders. Music is a powerful tool for expression and self-regulation. Voice lessons bring us in alignment with our body, being musical instruments ourselves, and encourage self-expression. Piano lessons improve our ability to solve complex multi-sensory problems. Musical expression lifts our mood and regulates our nervous systems, and I am passionate about bringing this capability to individuals with unique needs.
